Items
Every Lucky Races item, what it does, when it’s good, and how to counter it. Items pick up from track squares marked with a box and roll into your loadout. Unfamiliar with terms like drafting or lane choice? See the glossary.
Missile
Effect. Hits the target lane one tile ahead, slowing the racer there for 1 turn.
Duration. Single use
Counter. Shield (full block) or lane-change before it lands.
Strategy. Best aimed at the racer in 1st when they're on a long straight — fewer escape lanes.
Banana
Effect. Drops a slick on your current lane behind you. Anyone hitting it spins out for 1 turn.
Duration. Single use, persists until hit or 4 turns elapse.
Counter. Watch the slick layer; switch lanes one turn before reaching the marker.
Strategy. Defensive item. Drops where you are now, not where the target is.
Mystery Box
Effect. Picked up from the track. Rolls a random item — missile, banana, shield, or speed boost.
Duration. Picked up; rolled at use.
Counter. Block the box drop — drive a different lane.
Strategy. Highest expected value when behind; you might roll a missile that turns the race around.
Shield
Effect. Activates for 1 turn; blocks the next missile / banana / spin-out.
Duration. 1 turn
Counter. Wait it out — the racer is committing to a turn for it.
Strategy. Best held for the moment you can see a missile target you. Pre-emptive shielding wastes the slot.
Speed Boost
Effect. +1 lane-equivalent of speed for 2 turns. Stacks with Push / Overdrive speed modes.
Duration. 2 turns
Counter. Block Drafters can stop you riding a leader's slipstream while boosted.
Strategy. Great for closing a 2-tile gap on the leader before the final lap.
